Reseña del editor:
Maude and Marvin, a pair of lanky-legged, sandhill cranes, go looking for food during a dry season. After encountering empty fields and predators, they happen upon the garden of Princess Olivia. Maude, however, makes an unwise choice and risks being banned from this bird haven, and in the end, learns the lesson of honesty. This series of ten picture books (A Bird’s Eye View of Virtues) helps children see specific examples of common courtesies and, hopefully, increase their vocabulary and bird knowledge at the same time (all the main characters are common birds). Each book contains a glossary and an informational paragraph on the main character species at the end of the story.
Biografía del autor:
E. Ann Moore is a middle school English teacher in the state of North Carolina. She teaches a creative writing elective each year in which she requires her students to write a children’s story. Her students challenged her to write one herself, and this is the result. Sophie A. Norman is an artist residing in the state of Florida. She is the mother of the author and, after much cajoling, agreed to illustrate this book. While much more involved than either envisioned, Sophie enjoyed bringing the characters to life. Both enjoy feeding and watching backyard birds. There are so many lessons to be learned from these beautifully feathered friends.
