Laurel Dee Gugler's rhymes flow, with Deirdre Betteridge's whimsical illustrations matching them beautifully in meaning and mood. Facing the Day is an intriguing title because the curly-headed red-haired girl who is the main character has a multitude of facial expressions throughout her day. Author and illustrator (who both have earlier children's books to their credit), capture these expressions in words and pictures that children will relate to, and adults who know their little ones will recognize the mood of the moment instantly. Highly Recommended.--Joan Payzant"Canadian Materials" (02/04/2000)
Reseña del editor:
Your face is a mirror of your feelings. Laughing or singing, playing or eating, throughout the day you make hundreds of faces, showing your moods. This story follows a child's face through a typical day, meeting many other faces along the way. The lyrical text is great for read-aloud.
