Anantha Murthy. 9 Aug 98" with his address in India added below. The recipient was the author and critic David Lodge, who, along with his colleagues, Malcolm Bradbury and Richard Hoggart, was one of Murthy's guides while obtaining his doctorate at Birmingham University in the early 1960s. The book is quite firmly bound in lightly marked, rubbed and creased card covers. The text block is slightly toned and marked.
