Hardcover. Condición: Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fair. Hardcover with DJ, illustrated in color. Blue cloth over boards, with gilt lettering on spine, and gilt stamping of city scene on front cover. Slightly shelf-cocked. "Second Impression" stated on front flap of DJ and copyright page. DJ is toned, and chipped along edges, but illustration on front remains bright and eye-catching. Title page not dated. Copyright page dated 1941. 222 pages. Signed "Kip" (with inscription) on front free endpaper -- Kip was the nickname of Shepard, from the musical hall term 'giddy kipper' meaning someone who was excitable. Shepard is most well known for his illustrations in The Wind in the Willows and Winnie the Pooh. Many illustrations throughout, ranging in size from marginal to full page. A good copy. Please ask for photos -- we'd love to send you some. Signed by Illustrator(s).
