Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good (-). 1st. (CAD) First American Edition. There are two very small faint spots (possibly from rain drops) to the red dye to the top edge of pages, the faintest hint of wear to the lower cover edges, no markings, about Very Good in VG(-) unclipped Dustjacket with slight wear to spine foot and head, closed tear to head of spine, corner folds to flaps rubbed. Overall a fresh, clean tight copy. dark blue cloth with spine titles in silver, and author's mongram in turquoise to front cover, viii, 360pp, x index. A collection of Davies's writings on books, reading and various types of literature--a universe of books. This is a stated first edition with the American plates and the title page with the Alfred A. Knopf collophon, but the dustjacket has the McClelland and Stewart imprint to the spine, and the Davies quotation to the front panel. The rear flap indicates that the dustjacket was printed in (USA) the U.S.A. There is a photo of Davies to the rear panel. I am assuming that this is the American First edition with a Canadian dust jacket. (2.0 HOQ 103/b2 Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. Condition of Book: Near Fine Condition of Dustjacket: Good but shows signs of age Photo attached Vintage World of Wonders by Robertson Davies Hardcover Book Macmillan of Canada 1975 Edition Third Novel in Deptford Trilogy 70s Literature Magnus Eisengrim (also known by at least four other names throughout the trilogy) tells the story of his life to a group of filmmakers who are producing a biographical film about the great magician Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin for the BBC.[2] They are headed by the world-famous Swedish director Jurgen Lind (evidently modeled on Ingmar Bergman). Also present during the story are Eisengrim's friends Dunstan Ramsay and Liesl, who both appear in the earlier installments of the Deptford Trilogy. Ramsay reprises the role of narrator which he played in the first novel, Fifth Business, but in this case it is only to add context and continuity to the internal narration of Eisengrim. The life story of Eisengrim pulls together many events found throughout the previous two novels, showing them from a different perspective. This is a rare book 358pp.
